Welcome! I am a teacher and graphic designer by profession, but in the past couple of years have finally admitted to myself that I am an artist by passion. I have taken a number of post-grad digital art courses but the pieces you see on this site show that I can create art offline, even though I am apt to immediately digitize and reuse it! My latest collection, Illuminations, arose from my love of stark, simple, black and white graphic art combined with the process of illumination.

Last year I painted 100 watercolor flowers, and having leaned heavily on color to create shapes and form, these new designs are a development of what I learned from that project. By focusing only on the outlines of the flowers, weeds, and the elements left at the end of summer, I found a very different beauty from that I found when using colors. The drawings reduced the plants to their simplest forms, providing stark, clean images. The back lighting gives the drawings another dimension when viewed in subdued lighting.

I have an Etsy store where you can buy pieces of my art, or calendars, greeting cards, prints and luminaries made from my scanned and digitized art. Please click here to visit the shop and here to visit my Facebook page.
